  The 6th Council Meeting of Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) Council was held in Tehran, hosted by Islamic Republic of Iran.

During 17-18 July 2012, the 6th Council Meeting of APSCO was held in Tehran hosted by Iranian Space Agency on behalf of the government of Islamic Republic of Iran. Members of the Council from all nine Member States and Signatory States, namely Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and Turkey participated in this event.

  

  During 17-18 July 2012, the 6th Council Meeting of APSCO was held in Tehran hosted by Iranian Space Agency on behalf of the government of Islamic Republic of Iran. Members of the Council from all nine Member States and Signatory States, namely Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and Turkey participated in this event.

The First Meeting of the Council of APSCO was convened in Beijing, China from 16-17 December 2008 and the ministerial representatives from nine Signatory States to the APSCO Convention, along with their respective delegations had participated in the Meeting. APSCO Council as the highest decision-making body of the Organization defines and approves the Organization policy, adopt and approve the cooperative programs and their financial budgets.

APSCO was established by nine countries in the Asia-Pacific Region as an independent Space Cooperation Organization for the regional multilateral cooperation in the peaceful applications of space science and technology, based on the principles of peaceful uses of outer space, mutual benefits and complementariness, equal consultations and development, which will effectively improve the capability of Member States in space science, space technology and their peaceful applications and bring more socio-economic benefits to each of the Member States.
